In the last few days several of you have reached out via social media or in the comments here to talk about the newest firmware coming from Fuji allegedly on December 17. As per my usual policy I tried to discourage too much conversation about nothing more than a rumor, but yet, some in the community wanted to treat it as fact.
Fuji confirmed today that there is no firmware announcement. No new firmware is dropping on December 17.
This isn't the first time the Fuji community has gotten ahead of itself on rumors. The X-Pro2 speculation ran for more than three years after the X-Pro1 launched before anything materialized. I get it — we all want new gear and new features. But treating every whisper as a confirmed release date only leads to disappointment.
If you're looking for the latest actual firmware for your X-T1, you can always check the official Fujifilm support page at fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/x/xt1/index.html. That's where real updates land, not on rumor sites.
When Fuji does have something to announce, you'll hear about it here — grounded in what's actually confirmed, not what someone heard from a friend of a friend.
